Getting To Know Our Team Members: Spotlight On Tonya, Our Optical Lab Manager!

As you know, here at Vision Clinic, we’re honored to have you as our valued patient! Our goal is ALWAYS remarkable, one-to-one patient care… Thanks to our amazing team members!

Today, we’d like to tell you a little bit about one of the awesome people who helps make this possible: Tonya!
Tonya was born in Oklahoma, moved to Texas then to her home in Missouri! She and her husband, Mark, have been married for 24 years. They live on a farm and raise cattle. They have three kids, Kayla, Steven and Tyler. Kayla just got married a couple of weeks ago, so they recently gained son-in-law, Darrell. Steven is 17 and will be a Senior this year. Tyler is 15 and will be a Sophomore.
We recently put Tonya in the hot seat and asked her some questions so you can get to know her better…

When you’re not here working, what are your favorite things to do?

Tonya says most days off include laundry and housework, but when that is done she likes to watch movies and read a good book. She doesn’t always win, but she enjoys going to the casinos! Her advice, “Don’t take more than you can afford to lose.”

When you first started working here, what were your first impressions of the office and the team? Have those impressions changed?

Tonya is celebrating her 20th year working for the Vision Clinic! When she started it was one office with 6 employees. Everyone did everything and pretesting a patient consisted of the puff-of-air test. She was 21 and glad to have a good job. After three clinic moves and adding 3 additional offices and 38 more employees she is happy to have the opportunity to focus on one area. She loves the lab and enjoys being able to specialize in what she is best at! It is nice to know a little bit about everything in the office, but her favorite is the work of making glasses for patients.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

Tonya loves to be able to do something every day to help someone. Her job has never become stale because each optical order that she sees is different. Tonya says if you aren’t learning something new in the optical industry everyday, well, you just aren’t paying attention!

We’re So Happy To Have Tonya As A Member Of Our Team!

As one of our valued patients, if you have your own question for Tonya, please ask it in a comments section below! Also, you can always send us a message on Facebook anytime.

We look forward to seeing you at your next visit! Thanks for the trust you place in our practice.
